This fruit and oat porridge with low fat milk makes a hearty and high fibre breakfast that helps to keep a close check on blood cholesterol levels. Have this daily and make a great beginning everyday.
Ingredients
- 2 cups corn flakes
- 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 4 tbsp wheat bran
- ¼ tsp vanilla essence
- 3 tbsp sultanas (kishmish)
- For serving:
- low fat milk
- a few pieces of chopped apples
Instructions
- Combine the oats and wheat bran and lightly toast them in a non-stick pan over a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Cool completely, add the cornflakes, vanilla essence and sultanas. Mix well.
- Store in an air-tight container.
- For serving, place ΒΌ of the muesli into an individual bowl with the apples and pour the milk on top.
- Serve immediately.
