Onion rings in a buttermilk batter, deep fried till golden brown. This is a perfect recipe when served with drinks before a meal.
Ingredients
- 4 onions
- 1¼ cups plain flour (maida)
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- a pinch ofsoda bi-carb
- salt to taste
- Other Ingredients
- oil for deep-frying
- For Serving
- 1 tsp chaat masala
Instructions
- Peel and cut the onions into 12 mm. (½") roundels. Separate the roundels to get onion rings. Keep aside.
- Combine the flour, cornflour, buttermilk, pepper powder, soda bi-carb and salt and make a batter of pouring consistency using some water.
- Dip the onion rings in this batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown in colour.
- Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot, sprinkled with the chaat masala.
